About the event

The Marcus Jackson Project has been asked to assist with organizing a Community Vigil.  This request came in the wake of the senseless killing of Sonya Massey, a black woman who was shot dead by a Springfield, Illinois deputy on July 6 after she called 911 for help...

This massacre reminded me of the senseless killings that happen every day in our community, the ones that have claimed the lives of our children here in Edenton and away from home.

Let Us remember the children we have had to bury because of VIOLENCE.

Let Us remember the fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters, who are not here anymore, because someone had a moment of poor judgement, an emotional break, or simply just did not care.

Let Us remember the families that are left to pick up the pieces, in an attempt to find "normalcy."
