About The Marcus Jackson Project

The Marcus Jackson Project was founded in 2019 following the tragic loss of Marcus “Sno” Jackson to gun violence on March 19, 2019. What began as a mother’s grief transformed into a movement dedicated to healing, hope, violence prevention, and community restoration.

Created in honor of Marcus’ life and legacy, The Marcus Jackson Project exists to support individuals, families, and communities impacted by violence and trauma while promoting healing-centered approaches that strengthen youth, empower families, and build safer communities.

At its core, this work is about turning pain into purpose.

Through survivor support, youth empowerment programs, community conversations, wellness initiatives, peace education, and violence prevention efforts, The MJP creates spaces where healing, connection, advocacy, and restoration can begin. We believe that when communities are equipped with support, compassion, education, and collaborative partnerships, change is possible.

Serving both individuals and systems, The Marcus Jackson Project works alongside schools, families, community organizations, law enforcement, faith communities, and local leaders to help address the root causes of violence while creating pathways toward healing and positive community transformation.

More than a nonprofit organization, The Marcus Jackson Project is a movement rooted in love, resilience, remembrance, and the belief that every life matters.

Educating Others About the Impacts of Violence

Transforming Lives

The Marcus Jackson Project is dedicated to making the families and the communities we serve a priority. Our programs provide support to help people and communities that have been impacted by violence in various ways.

Community Outreach

Helping Those Who Need Us Most

We understand that recovery from acts of violence can be a difficult, that's why we meet people where they are to help them recover.

Our nontraditional methods allow us to see people in their communities, schools, or homes.  We understand that the journey of healing from traumatic events will look different for everyone. This is why our community outreach efforts offer a much-desired platform for people who may have lost their voice as a result of trauma.
